Ghanaian chief's ring - (3767)

Gold coloured ring which belonged to a local king (chief) or queen in Swedru a town in Ghana, West Africa. The chief who owned this ring and other jewellery belonged to the Fanti tribe and assured us that the ring is made of real gold. We have strong doubts about this but we bought the ring and other jewellery anyhow as they represents an interesting side of Ghanaian culture. Length 4.5 cm. Width 3.3 cm. Weight 17.8 grammes.
