Our collection started off about fifty years ago with Chinese and Japanese cloisonné. Inspired by a father who began searching for Chinese collectibles in the 1950’s and 60’s we grew up surrounded by beautiful things. Today our collection comprises among other things antique Chinese bronzes, Han, Sui, Tang and Ming pottery objects, calligraphic items, textiles as well as Burmese opium weights. And during a three years’ stay in Ghana we added to our collection African trade beads, gold weights, small Fon-bronzes, Ghanaian king’s stools, ‘linguist sticks’ and other things of interest. With the advice of Chinese and European dealer friends and an extensive library on Chinese art, our knowledge improved over a period of more than 50 years, allowing us to distinguish the right from the wrong which is important with the ever increasing number of forgeries.
Please bear in mind that we are not dealers but collectors so we don’t own a shop where you can see our collection. However we only sell genuine antiques and for that reason specified details accompany every item in the collection.
